I have been debating about this front door for a year now. I told myself that I was going to think on it before I did anything drastic where I can't go back to wood. I love the wood door on one hand, and I feel it's not me on the other. My house has no shutters so there is no color on the outside. The door is looking worn so it needs something... The question is, do I paint it? (I was thinking of an earthy green color) or do I restain it possibly with a darker stain? ( I don't know if that would work or not).
I could use some ideas and advice! Anyone out there with some expertise or just an opinion???

Your fall decorations look great! You definitely have a knack for piecing it all together. I say stain the door darker. If you don't like the way it stains, you could always paint later.

I say paint it!! My door was white and I painted it BLACK, I LOVE it! Best transformation! I even did the inside of the door!
Um, gosh...Cory loves the wooden doors stained. I do think if you did, then definitely go darker. Otherwise, I do love the idea of a green door. I want to paint my door green, but I think I would have to paint the shutters, too??

That is a great door! As much as I love a painted door, maybe start with a nice darker stain, if you aren't smitten with it then go ahead and paint it.

Paint it! If you do, don't forget to paint the inside also for an extra pop of color. Can't wait to see the finished results.

Thought of you when I saw this. Maybe this will calm some fears about the door painting. I think it really made the whole entryway look so much better. She seems to have the same flavor of decorating that you do. I think it would look fabulous! Let me know what you think :)
