Two sweet blue jars

Can you believe I found these two beautiful blue jars at two different places last week? I got one at my favorite antique store for $3.50 and the second at a garage sale for $1.00. The date on them is 1912.
I just LOVE the color and they are such a pretty pair! I think I am going to use them as candle sconces on the wall either in my foyer or in my bedroom, but for now, this is where they are living...
I put this cute little tag on this one with some roses in it from my backyard. My talented, crafty friend, Elise, showed me how to make these tags and cut out some shapes for me using her handy Cricut ( is anyone doing a giveaway for one of those?). It is such a handy little tool. This is one of my first tags I did.

I put some birdseed and a tealight in the bottom of the other one and put it on the mantle. It looks great with the blue shutter that is up there.

My little girl helped me trim the leaves off the roses and we put them in the jar in the sunroom. She is such a good helper and was a very good sport about the thorns!

These roses in the pretty blue jar make me smile when I look out the window at them. This window is right behind my breakfast area. I feel like I spend SO much time in the kitchen preparing food and cleaning it up that it is nice to have something to take my mind off of those "mundane" tasks! It's the simple things in life, right?

Love them Amy...what a find! They have a new Cricut(sp?) machine at my Goodwill, but they've priced it at over $100. I have no idea if that's a good price?? Let me know if you want me to pick it up for you. I'll keep watching it to see if it sticks around to go to half price!

Flowers and a little color go a long way! I like the simple decorations, Ames. I agree, escaping from chores is a necessity...even if it's something nice to look at. ~love you, Mel

Those jars are PRETTY!!! I would love to see what they'd look like as sconces on the wall. If you ever do it, please share pictures!!
Your little girl is beautiful!
