Oops! Camera Fatality

Well, I was wanting to participate in Monday Metamorphasis that Susan from Between Naps on the Porch is hosting, but my son dropped my camera and broke it. We are working on getting another one. I am painting my daughter's room today and will post some pics once I get a replacement camera. I knew there was a reason that my husband doesn't let the kids take pictures. They just were having so much fun! Oh well, I learned my lesson...
Hope to have some pictures soon.

Cute Giveaway!

Jen at Lipstick and Laundry came up with this too cute idea of these lil' junk jars and she has different holidays and themed ones in her etsy shop. She is giving one away to someone who visits her blog and checks them out. Go and see them. I know my daughter would love one of these!

Some new finds and projects of 2009

The best way to update and warm up a house is with lighting. I have been adding a bit of "bling" to my house with some fun chandeliers with sparkly crystals. I also managed to get some curtains made for my kitchen. The house is coming along and I am having so much fun doing it!

Here are my brown toille curtains. I just hung them on hooks under the shelf using grommets and tied some brown gingham ribbon on the hooks. This light I found at an antique store nearby. It is an old brass one that has been painted and "dolled" up.

This is one of my favorites. It is a true antique and is very unique. I found this one on Craig's List for a great deal. I actually got 2 of them and I'm going to sell one. My sweet, patient husband took down the flourescent light for me and put this one up in its place. It totally changed the feel of the kitchen. I just need to patch the two holes in the ceiling. This light makes me happy! It just needs a dimmer to tone down the glare at night.

I even put one in my laundry room since I spend so much time in there!

This is my "winter" mantle for those cold months coming up. I even left some lights up there.

Just Three Months Ago...

A little over three months ago, our sweet baby boy, Brayden was born on Sept. 30th, 2008. He has been such a blessing to our family. His little personality is really starting to show and he loves to talk and laugh (in his own way). He even is getting a little spoiled because when we are not talking to him, he cries and wants attention. He loves his big brother and sister and they think it is so neat that he responds to them now. He has grown so much! I am guessing that he is about 14.5 lbs. now. He was 8 lbs. 3 oz when he was born. Thank you God for a healthy baby that is just so darn kissable!

His birthday!
We went to see some Christmas Lights at a park nearby and it was so cold! He was wearing his raccoon hat to keep him toasty warm.
Such a happy baby! I love that smile!
Sleeping babies are the best!
Lots more growin' to do!

A Lookback at Christmas 2008

Whew! That was a busy hodiday season, but I am back and posting some Christmas memories. I tried to keep it simpler this year with the new baby and house. I have to admit, I get overwhelmed at times with all the changes that have taken place since September although they are huge blessings. I love to decorate, but would like to have some "status quo" for now so I can catch up now that the decorations are taken down and the "rush" is over. Praise the Lord!
We had a great Christmas at home and with family and friends and now the drive to Grandmas and Grandpa's house on Christmas day was just down the street in the same neighborhood. What a blessing!
I did manage to host a Christmas party for some ladies in my new neighborhood and it went well. It was great to get to know some new people and have a few laughs. I hope to make it an annual party! Enjoy the pics.

This is the kids in their Christmas pjs. It was impossible to get a "perfect" picture of all three of them at this age, but I love the memory anyway and candid is sometimes more fun!

I just love baby feet! They are just so kissable!

Our little winter wonderland in our living room. I so enjoy the lights.

My little "cottage" tree in the sunroom.

The kids were putting out reindeer food on Christmas Eve so Santa's reindeer could find our house. It is a mixture of oatmeal, sugar, and glitter. If felt magical when they were sprinkling it out like we could almost hear Santa coming.

Our home....I meant to get a picture at night when it was all pretty and lit up, but I never did.

Until next year when the magic will return again! Happy New Year!
