My Kitchen- one of my favorite rooms

I am giving you the kitchen tour before I pack it up. I just realized I only got pictures of the upper portion and that is because I was in the middle of packing. The counters were a mess. I will post other pics later once I find them. My kitchen has a farmhouse feel, at least that was what I was going for. I had a great time decorating this room. I wanted to paint my cabinets, but did not do it since we had the house for sale. I did paint the island red and added beadboard to it and the backsplash. I painted the backsplash brown. I will not have near as much wall space in the new house's kitchen, so needless to say, I will have some extra decor with a home... Enjoy!

Hi Amy. It's nice to meet you. Your home is darling. those curtains in your daughters room are sooo cute. The brick on my fireplace is called thin brick. It is half the thickness of regular brick and it is dry stacked, It has a real rustic look. I got it from a stone manufacturer. I have not got my whole room done yet but I think I will like it better when things get hung up. It is not uniform at all so it takes some getting used to. Oh and congratulations on your soon to arrival, How exciting, love new babies. Love J

Hi Amy... I found you on Katy's blog and I love your kitchen! The colors are great! It actually reminds me of my little kitchen, with the yellow and red. I'm curious, though, what color you planned to paint your cabinets? Well, at any rate, it's really a lovely room. You did a great job!
