Master Bedroom Makeover

Some homemade "artwork" using pictures, burlap, scrapbook paper, and number stencils. The frames are Wal Mart and garage sale finds.

I have been needing a change in my bedroom as it seems like many people are on the blogs that I read. Maybe it's a spring thing. I did not have much money to spend so here is what I came up with on the "cheap". I created this sitting area with some wicker chairs that my mom was getting rid of. I spray painted them black and made some pillows for them. The seat cushions are chenille pillows that I got at a garage sale for $1. (kind of a dark picture, sorry)This trunk was in my mom and dad's basement. When my mom was a little girl, this is what her parents put all five of the kid's clothes in when they traveled. I am going to use it to store my fabric or pictures.

I used two old wood crates to make a side table. It is good storage for magazines and books and other treasures I might find.

This is my "treasure of the week"! I splurged on this one because I kept thinking about it for days after I left the antique store. I love the antique silver finish and it was all ready to go with a long cord and plug so I could swag it and plug it in. No male help needed! I got it for $40.

These are Anthropologie inspired curtains that I found on ebay. They are actually Pottery Barn, but they're used, so I got a great deal. The R plate I got at Hobby Lobby. I hung the curtains on glass knobs from Hobby Lobby.

I am in love with the white pick stitch bedding from Pottery Barn, but I found this white matlesse at a flea market with the shams for $45. The other two pillow cases came from Goodwill and the burlap bolster I made. There is just something about white bedding mixed with burlap and flowers that I love!

I painted the shutters a blue/green next to the bed. Kind of a summery beachy look.

Here is what happens once the "photo shoot" is over...back to reality!

wanted to thank you for replying to me, about the brick backsplash. When you mentioned the brick not looking like veneer it got my "wheels spinning"; called my brick guy and he is going to cut the facing off the brick left over from the outside of our house for us to use on our
backsplash...hopefully it works out.

Your bedroom looks nice, I especially like the chandelier...would like to find one like that myself!

Love it - it's perfect! I am continuously amazed at what you can do with the treasures you find. You seriously need your own HGTV show! I am dreadfully tired of my bedroom decor - would love to lighten it up.

You know what I love about your makeover? It is stylish and sentimental and not just buying a bunch of stuff!

Hope that made sense.

I love eclectic and you've done that beautifully here.
